Introducing the Character Selector in Flawless DeepEditor

Good news: vubbing just got a major upgrade.
Now you can vub exactly who you want, even in complex multi-character scenes. No more manually hiding other actors’ faces.
Just upload your source, driving and training footage. DeepEditor will scan it all,, detect your characters and build a library of their faces. Then, you can choose which character you want to vub.
Plus, DeepEditor lets you review every appearance each character makes in a scene, so you can apply your vub even if they move in and out of frame.
Make Character Management Easy
Flawless DeepEditor now lets you manage characters across shots and projects:
- Review, name and group characters in the new character library
- Use shot appearances to check every face is correctly assigned to each character
- Handle tricky cases like reflections in mirrors, with overlapping appearances flagged for review
Log in to your DeepEditor account and try it for yourself.
What happens to my existing projects?
If you’ve already created vubs in DeepEditor, next time you log in you’ll see your characters have been assigned labels – for example, Character 1, Character 2, Character 3.
You don’t need to do anything to vubs you’ve already created, but if you do make more vubs out of the same footage, you can now label your characters to make your workflow even smoother.
Coming Soon: Avid Media Composer Plugin Support and Multiface Compositing
The Character Selector will soon be compatible for those using our Avid Media Composer plugin, so you get even more control over character selection from directly within your Avid Media Composer projects.
We’re also adding Multiface Compositing, so you can vub multiple characters and export into a single, new shot.
Stay tuned.
