Flawless Co-Founders Named to Observer’s 2025 A.I. Power List

Los Angeles, Calif. — September 17, 2025 — We are proud to share that our co-founders, Scott Mann and Nick Lynes, have been named to Observer’s 2025 A.I. Power List, which celebrates the most influential leaders shaping how artificial intelligence is redefining markets, culture, and policy.

At Flawless, our mission has always been to use AI to do good. This recognition highlights the work Scott and Nick have led to put creativity, ethics, and artists at the center of technological innovation.

A Misconception About AI

When asked what assumption about AI they think is most wrong, Scott and Nick were clear:

“That it has to be a job killer. Rolled out responsibly, AI can supercharge human creativity, create more jobs, and help entire industries grow and thrive. Done right, AI offers an opportunity to reshape the economic landscape, and fundamentally, we believe that can be done for good.”

The “Oh Sh*t” Moment

For Scott and Nick, the realization of AI’s power in film started years ago with a crude prototype, but this year provided a milestone they will never forget.

“Sitting with the filmmakers and watching the first ever end-to-end AI translated movie (Watch the Skies) was the big shift highlight. It was shocking, even to us, how much better the film played. How much more it connected with the audience and resonated on a new emotional level. We left the cinema floored and giddy with excitement, realizing this really was going to change global cinema forever.”

Redefining Dubbing for Global Cinema

The release of Watch the Skies marked the first theatrically distributed feature to use immersive AI dubbing, and the audience reaction spoke volumes.

“The reaction has been incredible. We were blown away with the response from audiences and critics. With high Rotten Tomatoes scores and glowing reviews, it proved that people are not only hungry for great international films, but also eager to embrace good, ethical AI solutions. For us, it was deeply moving to see people connect with the film because of the technology, not despite it.”

Working With Artists, Not Against Them

Scott and Nick’s philosophy has always been to empower artists, not replace them. That is why Flawless has worked closely with guilds and unions to align innovation with creative rights.

“Our overriding mission at Flawless is to do good. Balancing art and technological innovation means the creatives are empowered with technologies, not replaced. We have worked for years with the guilds, building out an industry rights workflow known as the Artistic Rights Treasury, as we share the fundamental belief that the real value comes from the human creatives. AI should serve them, not the other way around.”

A Rights-First Model for the Future

Central to that mission is the Artistic Rights Treasury (A.R.T.), which ensures outputs are consent-driven and copyright-secure.

“A system outputting unlicensed or stolen material is not legal or viable. Studios know that. A clean, rights-first platform that protects artists and enables consent ultimately ensures that all outputs are copyrightable and usable by studios. We call this a ‘trickle up’ model. When human artists benefit, the entire system benefits. That is how AI can define a healthier future for culture and business alike.”

The Responsibility of Leadership

Scott and Nick are optimistic about the promise of AI, but they are equally clear-eyed about its risks.

“AI will transform humanity, but whether that is for good or bad will be down to the companies and leaders currently designing its agenda. If leaders continue to drive companies by traditional competitive metrics such as endless profit and greed, AI will widen the inequality gap and cause harm. However, if we put human good ahead of profit, AI has the capacity to lift humanity, rebalance economies, and help everyone. That has always been our goal at Flawless: do good.”

Being named to Observer’s 2025 A.I. Power List is not only a recognition of Scott and Nick’s leadership, but also of Flawless’ vision for an industry where AI amplifies artistry, protects rights, and expands global storytelling. You can view the full list here
